“Everything started on a weekend away at this gorgeous Italian boutique hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, on the Eastern side of the Ligurian Coast. Alasdair secretly booked a long weekend here as a surprise gift to celebrate our anniversary.

Close to Cinque Terre and Portofino, but isolated enough to make you feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby towns…Villa Riviera is a unique place to spend your holiday and it was certainly love at first sight for me. Its stylish interiors, in contrast with the renaissance painted ceilings, the cobbled patio, the gorgeous outdoor staircase with the typical Ligurian terraces, the infinity pool overlooking the sea and the stunning view of Mount Portofino from the restaurant…I cannot hide the fact that everything about this enchanting place was making me fantasise of a wedding dress!!!

THE PROPOSAL

On our last night, after a delicious evening meal served by Villa Riviera’s in-house chef AD Catering, Alasdair walked me to the front of the terrace to admire the spectacular Sunset. While feeling mesmerized at the romantic panorama, he suddenly went down on one knee, taking my hand and placing a beautiful solitary ring from Lucchetti on my finger, then he said the magic words:

“Pamela, will you marry me?”

I could not believe it…my dream had come true!

THE WEDDING DAY

And here I am! On a sunny September morning, I found myself back at the beautiful Portofino Suite. I could not stop starring at my flower bouquet, or admiring my lace wedding dress by Maria Paola Conte, with a pounding heartbeat. Finally I could wear my favourite shoes from Valentino as well, a wedding present from my sister.

BRIDE & GROOM PREPARATION AT VILLA RIVIERA

A mix of strong emotions continued all the way through the hair & make up session. After I saw the amazing work that Stefano at FHS Studio had done on my platter, as well as the magic make up touch of Sabrina Priano, I started to relax, feeling comfortable with my romantic yet sophisticated look.

Meanwhile, Alasdair was getting ready in another suite, and only later he confessed how happy he felt inside. I was a little concerned that, being a passionate surfer, he would turn up in casual beachwear, but when I saw him in his beautiful designer suit by Les Arcs with shoes Made in Italy by Salvatore Ferragamo, I could not believe my eyes! My dream man was so handsome.

THE OUTDOOR WEDDING CEREMONY

Our wedding ceremony was very emotional. I loved the neat floral decor on the wedding arch by Giorgi Garden and the background sea view was, literally, the perfect frame to our wedding vows.

Afterwards, our wedding photographer Marta Demartini Photography took us for a fun romantic couple session in the stunning surroundings, complemented with spectacular aerial views of the villa performed by Levante Drones. We were so happy to look back at these wonderful memories.

AL FRESCO WEDDING BANQUET

Coming back from our photo session, a gorgeous table set up by Smac Rent on one of the open air terraces, was ready for our sit down meal. It was a unforgettable experience, with our closest friends and family. They all loved the country chic decors on the dining table and the vintage cornerstones that Laura , the wedding planner at Villa Riviera, carefully placed around the terraces to reflect our boho vibes. The stylish printed menus and the rest of the coordinated wedding invites were perfectly designed by Alice Wedding Art to match our theme yet to keep a subtle elegant tone.

AN ITALIAN HONEYMOON

Finally, some time to ourselves! For our honeymoon, we headed on a slow drive through the Italian Riviera, sipping morning coffees in Cinque Terre and lounging with bottomless Prosecco and black olives bruschetta in Portofino, like on a classic Italian Movie..Oh, we love La Dolce Vita’s lifestyle! ” Pam & Al
